Ari Last capped a memorable season by collecting the Solly Littlestone trophy after he was recognised as MGBSFL Player of the Year at the end of season awards on Monday night.

Captain marvel Last was a power-house in midfield in a season where Hendon United Sports Club claimed their second treble in three years - winning the Premier Division title, Peter Morrison National Trophy and Cyril Anekstein Cup.

"It's really nice to win the award and have my efforts recognised," Last told JC Sport. "There are lots of players in the team that could've won this award, including our keeper Russell Corin who won Hendon's Players' Player of the Year award last night.

"Everyone stepped up at different stages of the season. Ari Nevies was magnificent after Josh Lipman moved to Israel and Yoav Lebens was a massive signing - he helped ease my workload in midfield.

Looking ahead to next season, Last commented: "It gets a bit more difficult every year and we're losing three players so will need to bring some young faces in. But we'll certainly give the treble a go."

Los Blancos hotshot Jono Gaon collected the Young Player of the Year award after an excellent season in front of goal.

He told JC Sport: "The Los Blancos hotshot told JC Sport: "I'm ecstatic to have won this award, with a lot of competition in the top division. I could not believe it when David Woolf called out my name, I was shell-shocked.

"However, I could not have done it without the players around me who showed class and determination towards the second half of the season.

"I'm extremely proud that I have been put in the same category as players such as Yoav Kestenbaum and Jake Doffman. I have competed with and against both and have always admired their ability."

David Garbacz is now something of a dab-hand at collecting silverware and it came as no surprise when he received his second Manager of the Year accolade in three seasons.

L'Equipe marksman Richard Fogelman won the Golden Boot after registering 40 goals, while Jake Doffman of Norstar London Raiders A took home the Safe Hands trophy.

Woodford Wanderers talisman Mitch Hahn was recognised as the top player in Division One, with the Division Two award going to Redbridge Jewish Care B's Nathan Sollosi. Fogelman completed a win-double after winning the best player award in Division Three.

There was also joy for league new boys AC Whetstone who won the Sportsman/Turnout title, and Anthony Cohen completed a memorable night for the club by winning the Team Secretary of the Year title.
