GERARD. Darren and Roni are delighted to announce the birth of their son, Noah Ethan, on December 9, 2017. Mazeltov to grandparents Michael and Jackie Gerard, Adina Strauss and Daniel Weissman and to great-grandparents Pat Gerard and John Childs.

JUDAH. Yael (née Misrahi) and Ben are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter, Rachel Noa, on December 7, 2017. A granddaughter for Lulu and Ruben Misrahi and Ros and David Judah and a great-granddaughter for Leila and Monty Leib.

LUNA-BORD. Zara is pleased to announce that she is now a big sister. Iris was born in Fort Myers, Florida on Saturday, November 18 (Kislev 1, 5778). Her parents Rabbi Nicole Luna and Dr Joe Bord, along with grandparents Ruth Bord, Rachelle and Roberto Luna and great-grandparents Mark and Renee Gerson and Miriam Russ are as happy as Zara. Always remembering with love poppa Barry Bord and great-grandparents no longer with us.

SAUL. Lauren (née Hersheson) and Joshua are thrilled to announce the safe arrival of their beautiful baby boy, Ari Jay, on December 6, a baby brother for Noah. Another grandson for Ruth and Daniel, Caroline and Izzy.


JULIETTE SMITH and JOE SLADEN Marilyn and Maurice Smith, together with Lisa and Clive Sladen, are delighted to announce the engagement of Juliette (daughter of the late Caralyn Smith) to Joe. Mazeltov to grandparents Dorothée Smith (Liverpool) and Jack Malcolm. Remembering with love those no longer with us.

COLEMAN. Sarah. Heartbroken to have lost our caring, kind daughter, wife, mother, sister and niece after a tenacious fight against a cruel illness. Forever loved and missed by Dan, Nathan, Zoe, Vera, Nicola, Clive, Jeff, Sybil, cousins and friends.

COOPER. David. Our beloved father, father-in-law, grandpa and brother. Slipped away peacefully aged 97. His love, care and warmth will be remembered always by daughters, Jackie and Shelley; son-in-law, Paul; grandchildren Ashley, Joel, Rachel and Kezia; siblings Marie and Henry.

EVANS. Nicholas. Passed away in Naples, Florida, on December 6. Will be sadly missed by his wife Christina, children Daniel, Richard and Alicia, along with his parents Jack and Marylin, brother Barry, sister Lisa and partner Jonathan.

EVANS. Nicholas. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear cousin Nicholas. He will always be remembered with great affection by Stecia, James, Gideon, Joanna and all the family.

FOX. Joy. Passed away on December 4 in her 97th year. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

FREED. Walter. Our beloved father passed away peacefully on December 4, in his 96th year. His love and devotion to his family will be remembered forever by his children Jennifer and Timothy. May his dear soul rest in eternal peace.

GRADEL. Phyllis. John and Robert are sad to announce the sudden passing of their dear mother on November 27, 2017 (Kislev 9, 5778). Greatly missed by us, her daughters-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and friends. May her dear soul rest in peace.

KNORPEL. Henry. Passed away peacefully on December 1, 2017, aged 93 years. A man of distinction, integrity and great achievement who, with humility, exercised his considerable intellect for the benefit of others, professionally, communally and personally. A patriarch to his family, kind and caring, wise, learned and dignified, a true gentleman. Deeply loved, he will be greatly missed by his wife Brenda, daughters Melanie and Helen, brother Gerald, sister Maureen, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and all the family. May his dear soul rest in peace.

LEVEY. Marcus Joseph. Passed away peacefully on December 4, 2017, aged 79. A wonderful gentleman, loved by so many, he will greatly missed by his beloved wife Michelle, son Elliot, daughters Tania and Alexa, step-son Joel and step-daughter Suzi, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and many relatives and friends. May his dear soul rest in peace.

MARKS. Jack. Died peacefully December 5, 2017, aged 98, at St James's Hospital, Leeds. He will be very much missed by his wife Min, children Ruth, Estelle and Anthony and his large family and many friends. Jack was very active in the Jewish Friendly Society movement and social and cultural organisations and well known in the community in Leeds. The funeral will take place at Rawdon Crematorium, LS19 6JP, on Wednesday, December 27, at 1pm. Please wear something bright. No flowers please, donations to Oxfam would be appreciated. Jack loved people: people loved Jack.
