There were a number of outstanding performances on Matchday 12 of the JC MSFL season, but in the end only 11 players can make my Select Xi.
1. MIKE MYERS (FC Team C) – “was in commanding form and pulled off a number of great saves” against Woodford
2. JOE SUMMARY (Woodford Wanderers) – Woodford’s “game-changer” against FC Team C
3. MIKE KHALASTCHI (Camden Park) - commanding performance from big Mike, totally assured and in control, excellent bringing the ball out of defence as well
4. CARL PETERS (Oakwood A) - his best game in an Oakwood shirt. Capped a magnificent 90 minutes with a goal against Brady
5. NICK WALLIS (SPEC FC) – “marshalled the Bananas defence to a clean sheet with an outstanding display of tough tackling and positional prowess”
6. ANTHONY MENDEL (Chigwell Athletic) - his manager asked the team for a reaction before the game. Mendel led by example with a stunning hat-trick to ensure there would be no upset against Division Three leaders Oakwood B
7. ADAM KOSKY (London Maccabi Lions B) – “set up one goal and was fantastic throughout the game” against Shirley Park
8. GREG CORIN (Hendon Utd SC A) – “finally back to full fitness and how it showed as he twinkle-toed his way around the Norstar defence and scored a great hat-trick”
9. JONNY HAIK (Faithfold A) – SEE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
10. BEN ZLOOF (AC Mill Hill) – we’ve run out of superlatives for this marksman. His manager told JC Sport: “Ben was cool and calm in front of goal with two well-worked moves and two from the spot”
11. STEVE SUMMERS (Redbridge Jewish Care A) – “worked his brand new white socks off and inspired the team to victory. His touch was immaculate and was just untouchable for the 90 minutes. Masterclass in forward hold up play. Took the ball perfectly, no matter where it came from and made something happen. The goals will come”
