WJR's survival aid beats the freeze

articlemain

Ten thousand boxes of seasonal essentials have been shipped to Jewish communities in Eastern Europe as part of World Jewish Relief’s Operation Winter Survival.

To date, over £30,000 has been raised towards the campaign, reaching out to 29,000 people through a variety of WJR projects. Many impoverished Jews in countries such as Ukraine would struggle to survive the winter without the home repairs, heating, warm clothes, food and medicines WJR provides.

WJR fundraising director Paul Stein said: “The response from the UK Jewish community to OWS has been fantastic and we are truly appreciative of the commitment shown every year to the campaign.” The target is to raise £70,000 by March.
