A young JLGB leader has told Commons Speaker John Bercow of the impact the youth organisation has made on her life.
At a dinner hosted by Mr Bercow to celebrate JLGB's 120th anniversary, Jessica Schwartz said she had joined JLGB as a "quiet and shy eight-year-old from Cardiff". It had taken her on "the most incredible and life-changing journey.
"As the only Jewish youth group in Wales, it is us representing the entire Jewish community.
"When we visit the elderly, support remembrance ceremonies, take part in interfaith events, raise money for charities or make care packages for the poor, we're showing that [we] give back." She added that at 18, she took further training to became a fully-fledged leader.
Mr Bercow said: "The evening showed us all first-hand how the JLGB is at the forefront of developing and empowering our youngsters to be good citizens and the leaders of tomorrow, not just for the Jewish community but the whole of wider society."
The dinner also marked the formal launch of the JLGB's Do Your Bit campaign, promoting adult leadership.
