It's good not to talk

articlemain

A self-confessed chatterbox managed to keep shtum for two days to raise money for a cause close to her heart. Nicole Ettinger raised over £2,400 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society from her marathon sponsored silence.

The challenge saw her go silent shopping for a new coat and have a hair cut without chatting to the stylist. Possibly her most difficult moment was being stopped by a tourist asking for directions.

The West Hampstead 30-year-old chose the charity because her father, Henry (pictured together, below), is an MS sufferer. Mr Ettinger - who founded clothing company Speedway in 1986 - was diagnosed nine years ago and now walks with the aid of a stick. "He was really proud of me. He didn't think I could do it."
