In the Zone to help more

articlemain

Leeds youth centre The Zone will increase its support to those with family problems and medical issues thanks to £35,000 annual funding from the Manny Cussins Foundation over the next three years.

Anorexia, self-harm and domestic violence are among issues covered by the service.

Zone chief executive Raina Sheaf reported "a growing need for support and intervention for young people within the community. Prior to this funding, The Zone had been unable to meet demand.

"We have children who urgently need to be fed and counselled. An integral part of The Zone's purpose is to identify them and ensure that they are cared for and supported."
