Team GB through to football quarter-finals

articlemain

Team GB are through to the last eight of the Open football competition after a brilliant performance saw them beat Brazil 2-0 at Ketzef Central.

A goal in each half from David Soutar and Paul Hakim capped an excellent display from Jonathan Kestenbaum's, undoubtedly their best of the competition to date.

Knowing that anything other than a win would end the team's medal hopes, GB's tactics were spot on. They were brave, cohesive and vastly improved from the game against France two days earlier.

Brazil had a man sent off in the last minute with GB trying to run down the clock.

GB's quarter-final is at 9am on Sunday. The identity of their opponents are uncertain at this moment in time.

Reaction and full match report to follow ...

GB: Andy Goldman, David Soutar, Guy Helman, Guy Morris, Craig Ellis, Ben Lauffer, Sam Sloma (capt), Michael Warwick, James Gershfield, Paul Hakim, Scott Shulton
