JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- DANIEL SELWYN (Oakwood B) - lovely equaliser with the outside of his left foot. No idea how he’s done it. Jason Stein is screaming ‘smash it with your right’ and he floats it in with his left!

- ARON GALE (Straw Hat Pirates) - a three-man move started in defence by Jake Yudelowicz marauding forward with a simple pass to Gideon Gale who laid it off to Gale who let fly in spectacular fashion from 25 yards

- GAB SAUL (Temple Fortune B) - Adam Lenz won the ball on the halfway line and used his physicality to hold off his man before flicking a deft backheel to Steven Black on the right wing. Black bombed forward before cutting inside and laying off a pass to Saul who, from 25 yards, set the ball on his left foot and unleashed an absolute rocket into the top right-hand corner. A phenomenal team goal and a stunning finish

- ZACK McLEOD (Scrabble FC) - GOAL 1 - picking the ball up just inside the L'Equipe half out wide, he ran inside evading and beating two defenders with awesome pace and unleashed a dipping powerful drive from distance to put Scrabble 2-0 up after 10 minutes

- CRAIG EDWARDS (Scrabble FC) - GOAL 2 - received edge of the area turned a player with no backlift finesse in the top corner of the net

- NICK BARNETT (ML Lions Blue) - a lovely bending strike with his weaker left-foot from outside the box curled into the bottom left-hand corner

- MATT PEARLMAN (Camden Park) - a move that started in the Camden box and ended with Matt running from inside his own half followed by two one-twos and saw him lift the ball over the onrushing keeper

- ALEX GOODMAN (NL Raiders C) - a perfectly-executed header from a delicious cross to put us 2-1 up

- WILL BERESFORD (Lions White) - scored a wonder goal with his weaker right foot

- ARON GALE (Straw Hat Pirates) - a 30-yard screamer into the top left corner - Jake Yudelowitz made a thundering run down the middle, followed by a couple of 1-2’s with Gideon Gale who puts through his brother for a belter of a finish, floating perfectly into the top left corner

- ALEX JACOBS (Catford & Bromley) - first-minute screamer from 30 yards into the top corner

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- JORDAN SHARIFIAN (Lions White) - saved a penalty at a crucial stage of the game at 1-0 and we never looked back after that

------------------------

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - "In the end we feel Mincha mugged us. They’ll undoubtedly sleep well on the flight home. Fair play to Bayern Mincha who took all their chances brilliantly. They’re a decent bunch of lads and in Adam Ellis they’ve got a once in a generation talent"

- DANIEL HOLDER (Bayern Mincha) - "Jason Stein has spent the last three years recovering his nightmares of the five goals Ellis put past his boys for Shacharit Donetsk. The extra three goals he banged in today won’t help the poor man's recovery!"

- AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold A) - "The commitment of some was more than just questionable. There are things going on in people's lives that are unavoidable but Sunday morning football should be a priority over anything else other than that and today too many of my players chose things that were avoidable"

- DARREN ZITREN (Temple Fortune B) - "This was the performance of our season so far. Make no mistake, there was a lot of pressure on us to deliver a result today and we duly delivered. For the second time this season, we are off and running and we couldn’t be prouder of our boys today"

- SAM MARCHANT (ML Lions Blue) - "There is still a long way to go, and again, I say we are young, but this just shows and sends a message to what we are capable of. To go away to the unbeaten league leaders and perform how we did is a real credit to the squad"

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:

LONDON FA COUNTY CUP

OAKWOOD A 2 VISTA FC 4

Oakwood bowed out of the County Cup following a 4-2 defeat against Vista. Sam Cantor and David Woolman netted for Oakwood.

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a tough game although I felt we matched them from the first minute. At 0-0, we missed two great chances and at 1-2, we gave them two poor goals. Even at 4-2 down, we hit the bar.

"It is disappointing to go out after conceding some very poor goals but we will learn from it and use it ahead of some big tests in the league.

"We didn't make Vista work hard enough for their goals and we know the areas that we must improve on. This was always a bonus competition for us and it was good for some of our boys to get game time as we were able to use the squad and try a few different things out.

"We now focus on Camden this Sunday where we will hope to bring back some key players and get back to winning ways."

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND TWO

FAIRLOP FC 1 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB 8

Greg Corin described two-goal hero Moses Seitler as one of the best players in the league after Hendon United exacted revenge on second division Fairlop FC.

MATCH PHOTOS

Having been eliminated by Fairlop in the Morrison, the JC cameras turned out in force to see if lightning would strike twice, but Hendon turned on the style, with Dovi Fehler, Greg Corin, Rocky Spitzer, Zac Lewis (2) and Avi Korman easing them through.

Hendon boss Greg Corin told JC Sport: "Once again we were down to the bare bones struggling to put together a team this week but there was a superb attitude from the first minute and I'm sure this will be the kick start to our season that we've needed."

Fairlop manager Aaron Dias told JC Sport: "Today we decided to play our second string side as with no disrespect this cup it is the equivalent to the league cup and we are already in to the next round of the FA cup. But credit to Hendon who went full strength and and have prioritised the smaller cups."

FC TEAM 0 CAMDEN PARK 3

Camden Park completed a cup double over FC Team, with David Khalastchi, Dan Orgel and Matt Pearlman on target in their latest win.

An early red card for the visitors for a professional foul ultimately saw the game get away for FC Team. Camden then scored the goal of the game with a debut strike for Matt Pearlman.

Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "In truth the game was finished after the sending off and we never got out of third gear. But on a positive it enabled me to give a number of squad players 90 minutes. This was our third win in a row which can only give every one in the squad more believe, which now means in both cups we are through to the next round."

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "The game was killed after five minutes when Marc Hecht got sent off and then Richard Salmon pulled up with a hamstring injury."

DC Prediction: Team 2 Camden 1

MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE 11 FAITHFOLD A 0

Holders Lions White flexed their muscles to the tune, running in double figures against Division One leaders Faithfold at Rowley Lane, with hat-tricks for Sunday team newcomer SAM HAMMERTON, CONOR PERL and KIKI LEVIN.

Josh Weiner continued his prolific goal-scoring form having scored in his last three and Will ‘Messi’ Beresford scored a wonder goal with his weaker right foot.

Faithfold player-manager Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: "Not really sure what to say. Unfortunately for us we just had too many players unavailable. The commitment of some was more than just questionable. There are things going on in people's lives that are unavoidable but Sunday morning football should be a priority over anything else other than that and today too many of my players chose things that were avoidable."

OAKWOOD B 2 BAYERN MINCHA 4

Bayern Mincha were top of the shocks as they eliminated first division Oakwood, with star man ADAM ELLIS firing another hat-trick. Gavriel Nussbaum sealed the win.

Bayern joint-manager Daniel Holder told JC Sport: "It was an outstanding performance from all 14 players in the squad."

Daniel Seligman and Daniel Selwyn registered for Oakwood and joint-manager Jason Stein told JC Sport: "Fair play to Bayern Mincha who took all their chances brilliantly. They’re a decent bunch of lads and in Adam Ellis they’ve got a once in a generation talent. We desperately need some of the injured players like Haydon Davidson and Dan Ash back ahead of Redbridge B next week.”

CRAIG EDWARDS AND ZAK McLEOD helped themselves to hat-tricks as Scrabble boosted their title hopes with a double digit win over L'Equipe. Ben Bowers (2), Lorian Madanes, Josh Pugh and Zac Summerfield added the gloss in Scrabble's biggest win of the season.

Jubilant Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams showed no mercy and told JC Sport: "Promotion could come down to goal difference at the end of the season and we've really boosted the goal difference now with this result today. We also worked hard in the second half going uphill on a sloping pitch and scored some great goals and with the other result going in our favour today we are right in the mix near the top of the table where we need to be at this stage of the season."

LOS BLANCOS 0 TEMPLE FORTUNE A 0

A gutsy performance from Temple Fortune A prevented Los Blancos from going clear at the top after a goalless draw in Borehamwood.

Fortune boss Simon Linden told JC Sport; "It was always going to be a tough game against the league leaders and I’m absolutely thrilled to have picked up a point - it says a lot that some of the boys came off the pitch disappointed to have not walked away with all three points. We have to use this as a stepping stone in our bid to make sure we stay up the season."

Blancos joint-manager Joel Salomon told JC Sport: "It was a hard-fought 0-0 but one where we didn’t take our chances. Ultimately Fortune came for a 0-0 and that’s what they got. Well learn for this and the positive is we’re still undefeated this season."
