Sporting snap up Herman

articlemain

Gavin Sharpe is backing Sporting JLGB new boy Adam Herman to prove the signing of the summer following his stunning start to the season.

Herman managed just four goals last season while playing for Westdene 2nd but has bagged six in just two games for his new club.

And boss Sharpe says he cannot believe the transformation of the speedy winger, who is now one of the most feared players in the MJSL.

"Adam didn't enjoy the best season last year and I told him when he came here that he'd have a chance to prove himself," said Sharpe.

"He's done that brilliantly and with his pace and the extra muscle he's put on at the gym he's been an absolute revelation.

"He's got great pace and knows where the goal is and that is absolutely invaluable in the MJSL.

"I've got to give great credit to Steve Davis at Westdene who obviously helped Adam a lot and passed on a lot of knowledge.

"And now he's playing in a winning team he's really flourishing."

Sharpe is now hoping to pair Herman with last season's top scorer Rafi Bloom in Sunday's clash against South Manchester 2nd.

Bloom, who was named in the JC MJSL Northern Team of the Year last season, scored 18 goals last term.

Sharpe said: "We've got goals throughout the team and I hope we can continue our good start."
