Real Hendon enjoyed a solid first season under Chaim Gothold. The manager is raising the ante ahead of the new season in which experience could be key.
Gothold has made some astute dealings in the transfer window and they should feature strongly in the goals column.
But he is opting to play safe when asked about his aims for the season.
COMPETITIONS ENTERED:
MGBSFL Division Two and Cyril Anekstein Cup
HOPES FOR THE SEASON:
We are aiming for a top five finish. Although we finished fourth last season, with several new young teams in the division, we know a top five finish is going to be tough, but that's our goal.
PLAYERS IN & OUT:
We have signed Benni Sluckis from Hendon B - he is odds-on favourite to be our top-scorer this season. Yossi Hoffman scored five goals on his debut in pre-season and Dov Owen. We have lost Alex Neiss to a long-term injury, Doron Shooter (Israel) and Hezzie Raymond who has joined RCUK. We are also close to agreeing terms with Rafi Kon of Hendon A and hope he will then persuade his brother Ben out of retirement.........
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Yossi Goldberg - our player of the season last year - and Martin Smulovitch who has reinvented himself as one of the league's best centre backs. Chaim Strom is another key player with his speed and trickery down the wing.
WHAT WILL THE TEAM BRING TO THE LEAGUE THIS SEASON?
A bit of glitz (or should I say blitz) and glamour
