Newman helps GB win Euro team silver

articlemain

Josh Newman made his mark at his first European Trampolining Championships by helping Great Britain secure the team silver medal in Spain.

Newman was part of the first British male squad competing at the event in 14 years.

The event in Valladolid consisted of individual, synchro and the team event.

Fighting a stomach bug, Newman finished 18th out of 74 competitors in the individual section. He picked himself up and his score in the team event sealed silver, with GB just missing out on the gold to Belarus.

Describing himself as "very pleased" with his podium finish, Newman is now preparing for the domestic season which starts in a fortnight. He will compete in his first senior event in Coventry.
