Michael Wrublewski, the former head of Maccabi Australia has been given three to six months to live after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June.

Mr Wrublewski is credited with tranforming basketball into a major sport in Australia, and managing the title-winning Sydney Kings team.

600 people paid tribute to the Australian sports legend at a celebration last night.
