Maccabi introduce new trophy in honour of ten-pin master Loberman

articlemain

Maccabi GB are hosting their annual ten-pin bowling tournament on April 4 in Dunstable.

Following the death of Freddie Loberman, the founding father of Maccabi Tenpin bowling, the committee have introduced a trophy in his honour.

Matthew Plax, chairman of MGB Tenpin Bowling, said: “Freddie supported the sport for many years, and our committee agreed that he would be honoured in this way. I am confident that many of his peers will ‘come out of retirement’ in May to support the tournament and make this the most successful competition ever.”

This year’s event will take place at a new venue, Go Bowling in Dunstable. Plax commented: “After two years at Airport Bowl, we felt that it was time for a change. Go Bowling have been responsive to our requirements and wanted to build a long-term relationship with us. It is certainly more convenient for bowlers in North London as well as for those travelling down from the north.” For more information and for an entry form, go to www.maccabibowling.com
