David Cohen was the penalty shoot-out hero as Manchester Maccabi 1st edged out Old Ball in the third round of the County Cup.
Goalkeeper Cohen’s heroics helped Tony Gellman’s men through.
Olly Grant struck the winning penalty after a goalless draw went straight to penalties against the Thameside outfit.
Manager Antony Gellman said: “It was a poor game but it’s all about getting through in cup competitions. We held our nerve when it most mattered."
Meanwhile, Manchester Maccabi 2nds swept past Birchfields Phoenix 4-2 to preserve their lead at the top of Division One in the Accounts League.
Sam Modlin and Ben Gould struck doubles and manager Greg Louca said: “We have been growing stronger with every game.
