Olympic medallist Kristian Thomas kept children at the North London school on their toes

Medal-winning Olympian Kristian Thomas had children at Sacks Morasha rolling and jumping as he led a special PE session at the North Finchley school.

They had to complete a circuit of four exercises consisting of spotty dogs, press-ups, mountain climbers and star jumps — and also learned how to do forward rolls and backflips.

Mr Thomas, who won a bronze with the British gymnastics team at the 2012 London Olympics and is a former European champion, helped those who found the challenge daunting to see that anyone could have a go,

The sponsored event raised money towards improving physical activities at the school and supporting British athletes.

Hayley Gross, Sacks Morasha’s headteacher, said, “We are always trying to enthuse the children and encourage them to be physically active.”
