Wolff: We have a lot to look forward to

articlemain

David Wolff, chairman of the JC MSFL, believes that there is a lot to look forward to ahead of the new season.

Wolff, 66, has spearheaded the league for 41 years. He said: “The beginning of the season is always an exciting time. I’m pleased that we’ve increased the numbers, albeit slightly.”

The season will see 49 teams split into five divisions. Wolff said: “I’d like to welcome the new teams. It’s always good to have fresh blood.

“Several clubs have entered the County Cup and I wish them well. It certainly sharpens them up and it’s always something I like to promote.

“I’m also delighted that we’ve secured an extension to our sponsorship with The Jewish Chronicle. We have had an excellent working partnership for the last 10 years during which time we have been able to develop and project the league as a communal leader.

“I am extremely proud of the way the league has developed down the years, and even though the numbers have reduced in more recent times we do have an extremely viable product that generates great interest amongst our young and not so young participants.”
