There were wins for Modiin, Real Jerusalem and Ashdod on the opening weekend of the Olim League season in Israel.

MODIIN 5 ATHLETICO 0
Strikes from Joni Reiner, Matan Kroizer, Aviad Kaufman (2) and Lanre Wajuv helped Modiin make a dream start to the campaign as they cruised to victory against Athletico.

Modiin co-manager Jamie Lazarus said: "We are very happy with the football we played tonight. It is great result for the lads. We have assembled a great squad and are confident we will achieve success this season."

REAL JERUSALEM 6 JERUSALEM 4
The first Jerusalem derby of the season did not disappoint, with Real taking the honours in a 10-goal thriller.

Jerusalem's goals came through Lollu Hibbert (2), Amit and an own goal, but a goal in the final moments sealed the points for Real.

ASHDOD 2 ENGLAND FC 1
Ashdod came from behind to claim an impressive win over highly-fancied England FC.

Roy Ben Zihou put England ahead, but strikes from Ashdod Elihav Chemouny and an 87th minute winner from Ofir sealed the points.
