Crawcour to spearhead MGB squash medal bid in Budapest

Matt Crawcour is targeting gold after being appointed chairman of the Maccabi GB squash squad competing at this summer’s European Maccabi Games in, Budapest.

Australian-born Crawcour is an ex-world top 100 ranked player and he is believed to be the highest-ever ranked professional Jewish player.

Crawcour arrived in the UK after winning the 1993 Maccabiah Games Men’s Open Individual in Israel and he is the last non- Israeli to have won the gold in squash at the event.

“I am excited to take the team to Budapest and explore our Jewish Identity together,” said Crawcour.

“We are aiming to continue the fantastic track record of GB squash and make it a hat-trick of gold medal wins over the last eight years at the EMG.”
