A Jewish mother has become so fed up with waiting for her son to settle down that she has set up a website to find him a wife.

Just weeks after an enterprising son tried to auction his Jewish mother on eBay the tables have turned as New Yorker Geri Brin launched a site to find her son Colby a girlfriend.

Ms Brin, an Internet entrepreneur who works with Colby, has started “Date My Single Kid" to help her and other parents find matches for their single offspring.

If she finds him a date, it won’t be the first time the 31-year-old has been out with someone handpicked by his mother. Ms Brin has been playing Cupid – unsuccessfully - for five years already.

She said: "I even set him up with the saleswoman at the upholsterer I used to re-cover my sofa. I figured I might as well cast a wide net to increase his odds of finding the right woman.

“He's not hitting the jackpot on his own."

Mr Brin, a self-professed “momma’s boy”, has also been out with the daughter of a friend of his mother’s dental hygienist.

He said he knew his mother would persevere with her matchmaking and added that she will be asking about his romantic life “on her death bed”.

"If she hears of a single woman, she'll mention it to me. It's almost like a synapse in her brain that's been conditioned to automatically fire."

So far the site has attracted 20 parents, more than those who bid on 63-year-old Leeds grandmother Sandi Firth when her son posted her on eBay.

The Yiddishe Momma advert was later removed because eBay said it breached the “human body parts and remains policy”.
