Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said the US must choose between supporting Israel or Iran if any real change of policy is to take place.
Mr Ahmadinejad said it was time for US President Barack Obama to live up to his slogan: “Change”.
Speaking in Turkey at the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, Mr Ahmadinejad said: "The support of both Israel and Iran can't go hand in hand. No change is made unless great choices are made."
"We would welcome the changes, and wait for big and correct decisions to be made. We will clasp any hand that is extended sincerely toward us, but changes should be made in practice."
He added that he believed the West had treated Iran, Turkey and Asia as "second class societies” and claimed Western countries were responsible for far more bloodshed.
He claimed capitalism had caused the global economic crisis because it’s practices were “un-Islamic”.
Syrian President Bashir Assad and President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan also attended the conference in Istanbul.
