Rita Simons is number four to leave the jungle

The actress faced her fears but suffered from the lack of food

Jew in the jungle, actress Rita Simons was voted off I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here yesterday, the fourth celebrity to leave camp.

The pink-haired former star of EastEnders had been taken ill just before the vote-off, and explained that lack of food had made her blood sugar dip. But she was well enough to walk out of camp, and share her highlights with presenters Holly Willoughby and Declan Donnelly.

During her stint in the Australian outback, Rita faced her fears of heights, water and creepy crawlies by competing in Bushtucker trials. She also defied all rules of kashrut by downing a glass of blended pigs eyes - although she did say that it made her feel ill.

The actress also confessed to campmates that she hates it when people say her career has had a boost from her famous uncle, Lord Sugar. But Lord Sugar suggested that revealing the family link may have been her downfall, tweeting “That is maybe why the public voted her out . It might be my fault.”
