Compared to last year's snow and ice, the weather at Limmud was much more clement this year. New arrivals were greeted in the bar by a band of young Limmudniks playing a jazzy version of "Sunshine of Your Love"- the 1967 Cream classic. Limmud has been compared to a Jewish Woodstock – with different kinds of mood enhancers.

But our Limmud correspondent was dismayed at the knowledge of modern bartenders. He writes: "When I asked for a lager and lime, the young Limmud volunteer barmaid handed me lager - with a slice of lime. Not a drink in currency with young Jews, then (she did remove the offending fruit and found some cordial)"
