New York police have arrested a man who appeared deliberately to reverse his vehicle into a group of Chasidim on Sunday evening.
According to video tweeted by Williamsburg News, the driver drew up on the curb, waited until the group were close behind him and then drove back.
The five victims, aged from 11 to 82, were all relatives with the oldest receiving medical attention for his foot, the Algemeiner reported, citing the New York Daily News.
The 26-year-old suspect was apprehended after his car was spotted by Shomrim, the Orthodox patrol group.
The American Jewish Committee described the incident as a “horrific antisemitic attack”.
