Wizo quits West End

articlemain

After half-a-century in central London, Wizo UK will be moving from its Baker Street premises to a more practical location.

The women's charity expects to transfer to north-west London offices by the end of the year. Wizo House in Gloucester Place - given to the organisation 50 years ago by the Sieff family - is being sold.

As well as taking the HQ out of the congestion charging zone, the move will make it easier for most members to visit.

Wizo UK's Francine Barsam said the West End building was "very old and needs repair. The cost or repair would be significant and we need a modern open-plan facility. The decision has been welcomed by all our staff."

Wizo UK chair Loraine Warren felt the move would provide "a fresh and vibrant hub for members, supporters and the staff team".

New home will be ‘a vibrant hub’
