Supporting family of shot student

articlemain

Communal leaders in Manchester have expressed solidarity with the family of Indian student Anuj Bidve, who was shot dead on Boxing Day.

Manchester Jewish Representative Council's Louis Rapaport, who is also co-chair of the city's Hindu-Jewish Association, attended a candlelit vigil on Monday at the site where the 23-year-old was killed. A letter to the family, expressing shock at "an outrageous criminal act", offered the full support of Manchester Jewry. It will be passed on to the Bidves through the police. Mr Rapaport said it was important for community to show its support.
