Belmont Synagogue members have welcomed their new rabbinic team of Rabbi Elchonon and Jacqueline Feldman, whose appointment was supported by a huge majority.
As well as leading Shabbat services, Rabbi Feldman and his wife, a Hasmonean old girl, participated in a question-and-answer session, discussing their plans for the community and their aim to involve all age groups in its programmes.
Belmont chair Anthony Broza said the couple had made "a dynamic impact" on the congregation and would "enable us to continue to grow".
The Feldmans have been living in Israel, where they have been engaged in social and community activities including work with people with special needs.
