Oscar-winning film-maker Simon Chinn is to make a full-length documentary on Princess Diana due for release in 2022, which marks the 25th anniversary of her death.
It is being produced by Lightbox, the London and Los Angeles-based company he founded with his cousin Jonathan.
“We want to paint as honest a picture as we can of a complex woman who had a powerful influence not just on the British monarchy but on wider society,” the Chinns told The Times.
Simon Chinn took Hollywood’s top prize for his documentaries Man on Wire and Searching for Sugarman.
Jonathan has won Emmies for his documentaries American High and LA 92.
Among Lightbox’s current projects is a film of the signer Tina Turner.
The Diana film, directed by Ed Perkins, will be premiered in cinemas and then shown on Sky Arts in the UK.
Diana’s story will feature in the fourth series of the fictional drama The Crown, which begins on Netflix in two weeks.
