Young delighted as FC Team seal promotion

Mitch Young has spoken of his delight after FC Team A secured their place in the JC MSFL Premier Division next season.

Defeats for Oakwood and Brady Maccabi means that FC Team have finished runners-up.

Young told JC Sport: “I’m absolutely thrilled and delighted that we have achieved our goal and have been promoted to the Premiership.

“When we started in Division Five five years ago that was the aim and having achieved five successive promotions. I am so proud and everyone connected with the club deserves it.

“It takes time working your way up the leagues but we have done it in the quickest way possible.”

“I am a firm believer that the table doesn’t lie and thus we finished with the second most highest points and thus deserve to finish runners-up.

“I feel we were the best team in the last seven league games as our results show winning five drawing two and a great way to finish the season. We finished the season in top form.”

The FC Team manager paid tribute to Oakwood and Brady who pushed his team all the way, only to fall at the final hurdle after Team had completed their fixtures.

“Oakwood and Brady are good teams but in this division anyone can beat anyone so even though they had games in hand we were confident they would drop points,” Young said.

“We wish Brady luck for next season and I respect the job josh has done.”

Looking ahead to next season, Young said: “I have always been in favour that the Premier League should have more teams in as the showcase Division but I doubt they will have more than 10 in it.

“The team will be ready for the Premier Division come August. We have very good players and if I can keep them all fit then we will be OK.

“We have some exciting young players who will be gracing the premier league for the first time in Danny Moss and some top class players like Andy Sheena and Richard Salmon who have never played and will set the Premier League on fire.”

The manager is planning to add to his squad and said: “I will be looking to bring in the maximum of two players of high quality. I have Gideon Moss, James Korn and Richard Salmon all to come in who have missed the season through injury and will boost which is already a decent squad.”

So, what can the top-flight expect from the boys in yellow and blue? Young said: “The Premier League can expect us to be organised, tactically aware but most of all we will be giving it one hell of a go.

“We have worked so hard to get here we will be fighting in every game to stay there.”
