US Open woe for Peer

articlemain

Shahar Peer’s Grand Slam misery continued after she crashed out of the US Open in the first round of qualifiers.

Having failed to reach the main stages at Wimbledon, Peer, who was the top seed in the women’s qualifying draw, cut a forlorn figure as she was beaten in straight sets by Ksenia Pervak.

Amir Weintraub won his first-round match in the Men’s Singles against fellow Jewish player Noah Rubin of America 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.
