AMPTHILL TOWN 0 LONDON LIONS 3

On a rainy day the sticky surface in Bedfordshire, along with good opposition, was always going to be a test, but Andy Landesberg’s boys once again showed their mettle.

And once again Austin Lipman showed his pedigree to open the score in the first quarter of the game when the Ampthill ‘keeper came off his line to kick clear – but the ball found Lipman who fired the ball back over the ‘keepers head and into the empty net for 1-0.

Lions made it two On the stroke of half-time when Charlie Rubin’s free-kick was headed out as far as Liron Mannie whose volley was latched onto by the predatory Adam Bolle to double Lions lead.

Ampthill didn’t crumble, and were giving Lions a game throughout, but yet another clinical finish really was the difference today. This time the always dangerous Mannie firing in from the tightest of angles on the hour to end the game as a contest.

Lions remain second, but with Baldock in pole position given games in hand. However if the team can continue this impressive run until May anything is possible.
