Stone, who is 11 and studies at JFS, excelled on his national debut at the in the English Young Athletes Road Relay Championships at Birmingham.

Running the second leg, he entered the fray in ninth place, with a 32 second, 140m deficit. He hit the front at the halfway point, wining his leg by 33 seconds, and handing over a lead of 130m to the final runner, who extended the winning margin to 190m and 42 seconds.
