JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- GAV NOE (Real Hendon) - an audacious chip from the edge of the box after a quick break-away involving Chaim Gothold and Benny Goldberg

- TOBY LEVY (Oakwood A) - sweetly struck left-footer arrowed past Steve Murad and into bottom corner - caught on the JC cameras

- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - GOAL 1 - back-heel volley

- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - GOAL 2 - free-kick curled deliciously into the top corner

- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - GOAL 4 - acrobatic scissor-kick volley at the back post

- LOUIS NAGHTEN (Faithfold A) - shuffled past three men whilst being kicked and a la Cantona made it three with a delightful chip from outside the box

- AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold A) - free=kick screamer was something to behold from 45 yards. The power, precision and dip on that ball would've impressed Juninho

- DANIEL SELIGMAN (Oakwood B) - amazing team move - James Frener sprays the ball wide right to Rafi Bloom who bundles over a defender and cuts it back for Seligman to slam into the top corner first time

- DAN SELWYN (Oakwood B) - he really saves his best contribution for the final moments. A stunning strike with his left foot from outside the area that arrowed into the top corner to make the game 3-3

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - “We scored three absolutely stunning goals - only to concede three goals that needed the Benny Hill backing music. It’s unbelievable the defensive errors we make. I keep saying to the boys it’s all about focus. Unfortunately we still had a three brain farts"

- JONNY ADELMAN (NL Raiders B) - "It was good that David Dinkin got on the scoresheet from open play, and with such a well taken winning goal, it will no doubt do his confidence the world of good as he integrates in to our group"

- DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood A) - "Fair play to Stirling and his Camden side who defended well for an hour. We wish them well until we next meet them in the league. They have enough battling qualities to stay in the division and have already beaten a few good teams this season"

BRADY MACCABI 2 MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE 1

A deadly double from top-scorer Reiss Mogilner fired Brady Maccabi back to the top of the table as they edged past stablemates Lions White.

Brady manager Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "We dominated the first half but let them back in the second half. In the end I felt we did enough to hold on for the win."

Tyler Smith struck for Lions and boss James Gershfield told JC Sport: "Unfortunately a slow start and a poor first half cost us the game. Defensively we weren’t good enough for the first 45 minutes and found ourselves 2-0 fairly early on. The second half the performance improved but the second goal just never came."

Camden defended doggedly but further strikes from Leor Sidle, Jonny Quinn and an own goal sealed the points.

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "Ultimately, we had too much quality, power and pace for them and scored some nice goals, although we were quite wasteful for an hour."

Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "We all felt that if we have more attacking options we could’ve made it a far closer game. Defensively we we were very good. But we have to do much better in the last third."

Josh Bloom (2) and Jordan Aspis accounted for the Lions goals.

Hendon player-manager Greg Corin told JC Sport: "Lions were a good young side and although we let in a few sloppy goals, we were in my opinion the better team and deserved the victory. We look forward to our upcoming run of fixtures."

Lions boss Sam Marchant told JC Sport: "I would probably say, for the first time this season, the better team did win. On another day it could have been a very different story."

LOS BLANCOS 2 FAITHFOLD A 5

A brilliant brace from player-manager Avi Markiewicz saw table-toppers Faithfold A sent out a title warning with an impressive 5-2 victory over promotion rivals Los Blancos.

There were also goals from Louis Naghten, Zalmy Cohen and Dovi Vogel as the Superhoops turned on the style.

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 2 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE C 1

David Dinkin and Elliot Espinoza were the marksmen as Raiders B boosted their promotion hopes with a hard-fought win over Redbridge C.

NLR joint-manager Jonny Adelman told JC Sport: "It was a very pleasing victory - we showed excellent defensive resilience restricting Redbridge to largely long range efforts. On another day we could and perhaps should have won by more given the chances we spurned."

DC Prediction: NLR 2 RJC 0

OAKWOOD B 3 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 3

DAN GORDON was the hat-trick hero as Redbridge B shared the points after a six-goal thriller at Oakwood B.

Dan Seligman, Dan Ash and Dan Selwyn registered for Oakwood.

Oaks joint-manager Jason Stein told JC Sport: "It was another unbelievable day at the office really. Any other team would have won the game but, yet again, we find unique ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."

SCRABBLE FC 6 TEMPLE FORTUNE A 1

Craig Edwards made it six goals in three games as Scrabble earned their fourth win of the season as their promotion bid gathered momentum.

Further strikes from Ben Bowers, Lorian Madanes, Zak McLeod and Zak Summerfield completed the scoring for a free-flowing Scrabble.

Scrabble manager Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "Temple Fortune made it very difficult for us today working hard to deny us space and getting a lot of players behind the ball early on, but once we broke through with the first couple of goals the game changed and we were able to exploit the gaps as they came forward."

Fortune boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "For 40-odd minutes we held our own, unfortunately we do not have the squad to cope with three injuries that left us depleted second half. We can turn this around, I’m confident we can beat the teams fighting with us to stay up."

REAL HENDON 2 CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 1

Two goals from the returning Gav Noe inspired Real Hendon to one of the results of the day as they condemned joint-leaders Catford to their second consecutive defeat.

Real's Motty Korman told JC Sport: "It was an excellent result against a team that is up there at the the top of the table. It shows that when we have a full squad available we can match most teams in the division."

FAITHFOLD B 1 FC TEAM 8

A fab four-goal salvo from player-manager MITCH YOUNG lifted FC Team into the top five as they crushed Faithfold B 8-1.

STRAW HAT PIRATES 2 BAYERN MINCHA 4

Bayern Mincha climbed three points clear at the top as they beat a gutsy Pirates team 4-2, with strikes from Adam Ellis (2), Jake Dayan and Alon Pinhas.

Ellis's double saw him move on to 16 goals this season.

Bayern joint-manager Daniel Holder told JC Sport: "It was a scrappy game on a poor surface but yet again the boys showed that they can win without playing too well."

MATCH REPORT

DC Prediction: Pirates 2 Bayern 4

TEMPLE FORTUNE B 1 MILL HILL DONS 5

ZACH COHEN was the star man as Mill Hill Dons boosted their promotion hopes with a handsome win over Temple Fortune B.

Fortune joint-manager Darren Zitren told JC Sport: "Unfortunately it was not the result we wanted today. We had to shift the team around after Sam Sicurel was forced to go off early on and Simon Cohen pulled out pre-match, both due to back injuries. We more than matched MH Dons in the first half however luck wasn’t on our side."

DC Prediction: Fortune 2 Dons 3
