Season 2016/17: meet the teams - Los Blancos

articlemain

It’s all change at Los Blancos, with a new manager, new home and new sponsor.

Nick Grosse has been “recruiting heavily” and is aiming for a top three finish.

The Whites came away testing pre-season schedule with plenty of positives and they consider themselves dark horses in the division.

Grosse told JC Sport: “Our whole squad is a force to be reckoned with, from between the stick to our attacking option we form a strong unit. There is no need to single out star players.

"Above all, we are a top bunch of lads who enjoy our Sunday football."

COMPETITIONS ENTERED:
MGBSFL Division One and Peter Morrison Cup

HOPES FOR THE SEASON:
Our aim is to finish in the top three with promotion being our ultimate goal. This season marks a wholesale revamp of the entire club. Our goalkeeper for the last three seasons has decided to semi-retire and become full-time manager. We have changed home ground, moving from the unpredictable terrain of West Hendon Playing Fields to the 3G pitch at the Hertswood Centre in Borehamwood. Our new sponsor is Hendon's local sports team, Saracens Rugby Club, and we expect to be inspired by their recent dominance.

PLAYERS IN & OUT:
We have been recruiting heavily with James Joseph, Avi Kestenbaum, Joel Barnett, Joshua Gertner, Josh Cramer, Elliot Moslawy, Josh Hirshowitz, Luke Strauss, Josh Landy, George Collins and Joe Metliss all joining the Los Blancos family. Our pre-season has been positive, although the results against FC Team A and Camden Park look poor on paper, our performances were solid and many of our first team players have been abroad. Time will tell how things play out under the new regime, but we consider ourselves the dark horses for the upcoming season.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Our whole squad is a force to be reckoned with, from between the stick to our attacking option we form a strong unit. There is no need to single out star players.

WHAT WILL THE TEAM BRING TO THE LEAGUE THIS SEASON?
After a few seasons of scraping together a squad of 11, 12 or 13 players for match days, we now have significant depth in our squad and coverage in all positions including a full-time reserve keeper. We are technically strong and intelligent, but above all, we are a top bunch of lads who enjoy our Sunday football.
