Salford cut down by Foresters

articlemain

Salford Blue Jays suffered a disappointing defeat in their final match of the Greater Manchester Amateur League season.

Runs were at a premium on a sticky wicket, with the ball not coming on to the bat. Josh Henry batted nicely for 23 and put on 31 for the second wicket with Caleb Blake (19).

However, only Josh Dansky (16) of the middle order batsmen made any significant runs and SBJ were bowled out for 81.

With the pitch drying, SBJ bowled well and their chances were boosted when Adam Schogger ran out one of the openers and had another batsmen caught at cover by Rafi Dover, playing his only match of the season.

However, despite making the batsmen play and miss on several occasions, SBJ did not have enough runs on the board and Foresters ran out comfortable winners by eight wickets.

SBJ finished the league season in sixth position, above Foresters and Offerton, who failed to fulfill their remaining fixtures.
