London Lions 2-0 Met Police Bushey

Goals from Lee Cash and Adam Stolerman put London Lions on the brink of promotion from the Herts Senior County League Premier Division following an impressive 2-0 win over the recently crowned champions at Rowley Lane.

Cash rewarded Lions’ work-rate and tenacity with the opener and he was involved in the second after being hauled down in the area. Stolerman effectively killed off the game from the penalty spot.

Victory leaves the team needing to win their last match at Evergreen tomorrow and hoping that Baldock drop a point from their last three games to guarantee a top two finish.

Lions manager Tony Gold commented: “It was almost the perfect performance. The players grafted for that result and showed what a good side they really are. We now have a very tense and exciting finish although it is out of our hands. Hopefully we will get a bit of lady luck.”

Lions: Berliner, A. Lauffer, Cole (sub: Gold), Manson (sub: Green), Myeroff, Morris, Glass, Lampert, B. Lauffer, Cash (sub: Ellis), Stolerman
