Oakwood B happy to travel north in round 3, says Stein

BOBBY ABRAMS was at his brilliant best with a four-goal salvo helping Division One promotion hopefuls Oakwood B destroy the Cats 5-1.

Dan Ash joined the party on a memorable morning for Jason Stein's men.

Oaks boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: "It was a really enjoyable game against a competitive Catford side.

"I didn't know what to expect from a team who had put four past Lions B and I made sure my boys weren't harboring any ideas of an easy morning.

"I'm pleased to say our performance level was better than over the last few weeks and I was glad to see it pick back up.

"Understandably we took our foot off the gas in the last 15 minutes, but we're through to the last 16 and that's the main thing.

"The draw is tonight and I hope Eyal Berkovic and Ronnie Rosenthal pull out a kind one. Personally speaking, any of the northern sides would be a great occasion and I'd take delight in proving to some of my southern colleagues that is possible to drive down a motorway, play a game of football and do so without moaning.

"But after that we'll turn our attention to the league with three home games coming up before the winter break."

Cats player-manager Jeff Gotch told JC Sport: "This wasn't one for the record books. The better team won."
