Ray Abrahams says he felt sorry for Temple Fortune after table-toppers Scrabble FC stormed to their most emphatic victory of the season after smashing 16 goals past Temple Fortune in the top against bottom clash.

Zak McLeod (5) and Elliott Espinoza (4) led the way, with Don Nineberg, Jonathan Peters, Andy Cohen (2), Adam Waters (2) and Danny Sherman adding the gloss as Scrabble sealed their biggest win of the season.

Scrabble, without centre back Josh Bentley and winger Josh Sheridan, tore into Temple Fortune from the kick off and were 5-0 up in under 15 minutes including a seven-minute hat-trick from on-fire midfielder McLeod. Peters and Sherman on the mark too for the second and the fifth.

Fortune settled down after the early shock and there was a 20-minute period where they played some nice football. But Scrabble made it 6-0 through another great effort from McLeod 10 minutes from half time.

The second half started much like the first with Scrabble introducing Don Nineberg from the bench at half-time to partner Sherman up front and within five minutes of the restart left back Andy Cohen made it 7-0.

Waters added an eighth 10 minutes later and by now Scrabble were in complete control of the game and Espinoza helped himself to two goals in five minutes to make it 10-0.

McLeod scored his fifth goal of the game and Scrabble's 11th on 65 minutes and with winger Waters and Cohen scoring their second goals of the game the score went on to 13-0.

Espinoza added two more in the 75th and 80th minutes to bring his tally to four and Nineberg scored his debut goal to complete the scoring on 83 minutes and complete a 16-0 rout.

Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "All credit to the Temple Fortune players and management who turned out and played the game with a fantastic attitude and spirit despite the gulf in quality between the two sides.

"We hope things improve for them because they are a great club with a big tradition and hopefully they can regroup and try again next season.

"As for my lads we took the opportunity today to improve our goal difference and we were really on fire but we take no pleasure in scores of this nature but we achieved our 11th win on the spin.

"I'm so proud of the situation where we sit on top of the table with 33 points and a 100 per cent record at the half way point in the campaign. We look forward to 2016 and completing the job next May."
