Maccabi GB, in partnership with UJIA, have become the main sponsor of the Maccabi Southern Football League.
The deal between Maccabi GB and one of their biggest affiliates follows several weeks of discussion and will start with immediate effect for the new season. The league will be renamed the Maccabi GB (Southern) Football League.
The league’s long-standing chairman David Wolff said: “I am delighted that the MSFL will be working so closely with Maccabi GB. It is vital that our members understand that we are part of something much bigger than our own league and that we share the unique vision of the Maccabi movement, Jewish continuity via sport.”
Daniel Collins, vice-chairman of Maccabi GB, added: “We think this is an excellent opportunity to develop a strong working relationship with the league and its 1,300 members. We will be looking to strengthen the understanding of the league’s members of what we do, why we do it.
"The Maccabi movement worldwide looks to use sport to engage young people in community life by playing sport. The MSFL have been doing this successfully for a generation. By members understanding the wider picture we hope they will become engaged in more Maccabi GB programmes."
