The Pirates have had a testing pre-season schedule, which culminates in a friendly against Mill Hill Dons this weekend.

Their match at Catford & Bromley Maccabi on September 3 is one of two matches, with highly-fancied Fairlop hosting Hertswood Vale in Redbridge.

Fairlop have made some impressions additions to their squad, including MGBSFL Player of the Year Ryan Cole.

There is some mouth-watering action scheduled in all three on September 10, with the match between defending champions Oakwood A and former winners North London Raiders A the pick of the bunch.

Both teams lost key players during the close season, with NLR No. 1 Jake Doffman joining Los Blancos, while Guy Helman departed the Oaks.

Maccabi London Lions White, led this season by James Gershfield, will look to hit the ground running, boosted by MGBSFL stalwarts Alex Levack and Tony Gold against Hendon United.

The Reds will be headed by Greg Corin and their fans will be delighted to hear that brothers Josh and Paul Bentley have returned to the club.

In a late change, Redbridge Jewish Care C have been promoted into Division One, joining their B team. The C's host title hopefuls Raiders B in one of four matches.

There are six matches scheduled in Division Two on Matchday 2, including Bayern Mincha who welcome FC Team.

Full season preview in next week's JC (September 3).
