Tony Milch believes he is ready for an area title shot after registering his sixth professional victory.
He was leading Zoltan Turai of Hungary on points before a fourth-round clash of heads led to the referee halting the fight at the Camden Centre in Kings Cross.
Up against a stocky opponent who had won four of his six fights by KO, Milch took the fight to Turai, attacking him from the first bell.
"He was a dangerous opponent," said Milch. "My plan was to land my shots and keep moving. He came for a knockout but I went for him and put pressure on him at every opportunity.
"I'm delighted my hands held up well and it was a really sharp performance overall."
Milch plans to have a week off before stepping up his strength and conditioning training before the new year. "Then I'll have a seven-week intensive training camp before my next bout in February, which is likely to be a six-rounder," he said.
"My target is to have an area title shot and a couple of fights on television next year."
