JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- JOSH FLAX (Scrabble FC) - a 35-yard screamer into the top corner on the volley

- ADAM LAVIN (South Manchester Sports 1st) - stunning exocet 35-yard missile free-kick against Harmen

- ADAM ARNOLD (Harmen) - GOAL 2 - waltzed his way past four defenders and then put it out of reach of the keeper into the bottom corner. Everyone at the ground applauded at the quality they had just seen

- DOVI FEHLER (Hendon Utd SC A) - picked the ball up inside own half - with a devastating burst of speed beat two man - ran half the length of the pitch before audaciously chipping the keeper from 20 yards - followed by trademark backflip celebration

- BENJAMIN BELL (Athletic Bilbaum) - beat the right-back skilfully and drilled it low from the far edge of the box into the bottom corner

- WILL UFLAND (NL Raiders C) - a Raiders free-kick 25 yards out on the right of centre as you look at the goal. Ufland took it and put it into the top left corner of the net, over L'Equipe's giant keeper and in off the bar - think Ronaldinho against Seaman in 2002 and you're not far off - well worth the entrance fee!

- ADAM POSNER (NL Raiders B) - picked the ball up 30 yards out and unleashed a Dele Alli'esp rasper in to the top corner 1-0 - a candidate for goal of the season let alone goal of the week

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
1. JON JACOBS (Redbridge JC A) - QUOTE 1 - "We pinned Danny Caro’s prediction up in the changing rooms and enjoyed throwing darts at it after the game"

2. JON JACOBS (Redbridge JC A) - QUOTE 2 - "Roll-on, roll-off was thrown out by the Maccabi League as the teams voted against it. Redbridge were the only team to vote for it and that view has been given more power by today. You are able to take a squad of 15 to Manchester and give them all some game time. It keeps teams together and makes everyone feel a part of it. The ref knew who the subs were and was very happy to allow for quick changes so it really added to the occasion. I urge the clubs to reconsider this again for next season"

3. JONNY DAVIS (South Manchester Sports 1st) - commenting on Adam Lavin's free-kick (see above) - "If that would've been scored by a Brazilian, you'd never hear the end of it"

4. DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon A) - "I don't want to take anything away from Lions - they played an excellent intense high-pressing game and are a vastly improved team from last year. They fought really hard and would have been delighted to get a draw, never mind the win"

5. SAMUEL MARCHANT (ML Lions B) - QUOTE 1 - "We had a goal not given just before the final whistle as a corner was clearly headed in and over the line, the distance over the line reminiscent of Pedro Mendes away at Old Trafford. In other words, we dominated the game from the start, weren’t clinical, and were also unlucky"

6. SAMUEL MARCHANT (ML Lions B) - QUOTE 2 - "It was an unfortunate day for us yet our performance was of top quality, the best we’ve played all season. To play the team in the league with the best record, outplay them on their own pitch and not be rewarded for it is a harsh reality. We pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and head into next week knowing that if we play like that every week, we will be playing football next season in a higher division"

7.JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - "The draw is tonight and I hope Eyal Berkovic and Ronnie Rosenthal pull out a kind one. Personally speaking, any of the northern sides would be a great occasion and I'd take delight in proving to some of my southern colleagues that is possible to drive down a motorway, play a game of football and do so without moaning"

PHILLIPS SENDS FLIXTON PACKING
FAITHFOLD A 1 AFC FLIXTON 0
Daryl Phillips rolled back the years to help Faithfold put their poor league form aside to progress following an impressive victory over Accountants League champions Flixton.

Ben Lewis and Sam Leader also excelled as the Superhoops sent last season's runners-up crashing out at the Hive.

Faithfold boss Dan Beresford told JC Sport: "Flixton were a physical outfit and I guess they didn't come to lose, but we had a game-plan and it worked.

"Unlike the whole of the season so far, we made few mistakes and kept them down to a minimum in front of goal. The performance was no different to many games this season - we've just been on the end of too many mistakes - but today we were excellent."

DC Prediction: Faithfold 0 Flixton 3

HARMEN "COMFORTABLE" DESPITE LATE SCARE

Harmen joint-manager Joe Marsh told JC Sport: "The scoreline doesn't really do us justice as we dominated the majority of the game, with South Manchester pegging two goals back in the last 15 minutes to add some excitement for the travelling fans."

South Manchester joint-player-manager Toby Levy told JC Sport: "Dominant and comfortable isn't exactly how the game went - I think that is a slightly blinkered view of the game, made clear from be fact that we felt hard done by and did enough to win the tie, let alone take it to extra-time."

Richard Salmon and Adam Rones found the net for Team B.

FC Team A boss Ben Gilbey told JC Sport: "We were really happy to get the win on what was a really hard pitch to play on and in a derby which was always going to be a scrappy game.

"The game was played in good spirits, but I was mostly happy with the character my team showed to come from behind and get the win in really hard conditions. On to the next round in Manchester!"

FC Team B gaffer Mitch Young told JC Sport: "The game was played in good spirits, the pitch and conditions made it difficult for both teams but there was still some great quality on show.

"The game was won on our individuals mistakes which is unacceptable and thoroughly disappointing. I am angry to lose but if we were to lose then I am glad it was to the A's who fought hard and we hope they can go all the way."

SPEC FC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "Everything clicked for us today. Every player was brilliant and I genuinely don't think 6-0 flattered us at all. Our attitude was spot on and we went about our business very well."

Interim Brady boss Elliott Dagul told JC Sport: "SPEC wanted it so much more and at any level when one team wants it so much more, that attitude is more often than not rewarded. From 1-11 and from minute 1-90 they were better."
