JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: CONTENDERS

HARRISON BAUM (North London Galaxy) GOAL 2 - "a thing of beauty!" Every Galaxy player touched the ball as they played out from the back with some wonderful one-touch football, unselfish runs and movement off the ball. Dan Brennan and Grundman combined down the left before Brennan whipped "a Kieran Tierney delivery" into Baum to tap in his second of the game

RICHARD REBACK (Mill Hill Dons) - a superb diving header, arriving brilliantly at the back post to meet a whipped free-kick, setting up a grandstand finish

PHILIPPE AURET (Brook Farm Rovers) - controlled a through ball, knocked it past the defender, opened up his body and bent it top bins round the keeper

ADAM BOWMAN (Borussia Barnet) - superb free-kick against Faithfold. Click here to see it!

ZACK LEWIS (Hendon Utd Sports) - the ball was worked carefully by Rocky Spitzer and Moses Seitler in central midfield before Dovi Fehler managed to hold the ball up against defenders twice his size. He set Lewis through, who waited for the killer moment to volley the ball on the up, down into the bottom corner

AVI KORMAN (Hendon Utd Sports) - An inswinging corner from Chaim Korman was whipped into the box and defended well by the Oakwood giants. Falling to Moses Seitler, he chested the ball down and let loose an audacious volley that was again magnificently blocked by Oakwood’s captain, all the way out to a back-tracking Chaim Korman. One touch out his twinkle-toes and a 35-yard cross deep into the penalty area was met by his older brother to mark his return to the side with a towering attacking header down into the ground and into the roof of the net

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: CONTENDERS

ZACK NATHAN (North London Galaxy) - got a strong hand to an excellent shot in the six-yard box against SPEC. Insane reflexes.

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: CONTENDERS

JORDAN SAPLER (Hendon Utd Sports) - "The motivation and desire of the squad is huge and we relish the challenges set to us by other people in the league. We don’t like to do much talking and we get on with our job on the pitch and that showed today. Back to the top of the table after a brief hiatus and it does look good from this perch!"

AVI KORMAN (Hendon Utd Sports) - "On a personal note – its lovely to get three points and an engagement in the space of three days but ultimately if Oakwood had not time-wasted their lead away I would have considered it a less than successful week!"

DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood) - "Leading 3-1 and dominating the game, we looked like the only winners but credit must go to Hendon, they never give up and have a fantastic team spirit. Along with their squad depth, that ultimately got them over the line"

MGBSFL PREMIER DIVISION

HMH 0 MLFC BLUE 1

A first-half strike from Mikey Perkins earned MLFC their second - and best - win of the season as they inflicted a second defeat of the season on league leaders HMH at the Hive.

MLFC joint-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "The guys came focussed to do a job today against a really good HMH side. We know the way they play, and they have a lot of quality players, so we set up to have a really compact unit and let them have the ball from deep and out wide. The second half was much the same, with HMH struggling to create any clear-cut chances and our team were completely solid."

Disappointed HMH boss Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "We had an off day in front of goal and on another day it wound have been a cricket score."

OAKWOOD 3 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 4

Defending champions Hendon United Sports returned to top spot after winning a seven-goal thriller against third-placed Oakwood in Wembley, with strikes from Avi Korman, Chaim Korman, Moses Seitler and Zack Lewis.

Hendon stand-in joint-manager Avi Korman told JC Sport: ‘It is always good to play Oakwood and test an element of our side that we are not renowned for. We are happy to pass through and around you and look forward to doing so again on the plains of Hadley."

Oakwood Director of Football Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a great advert for the league. We should have seen the game out but unfortunately Hendon's squad depth ended up being the difference in a game that strangely went on for well over 100 minutes."

HERTSWOOD VALE 1 JEWDINESE 2

Sim Cohen and Adam Gold earned Jewdinese their third league win of the season as they moved on to ten points following a hard-fought win over third-placed Hertswood Vale.

After a goalless first half, 'Nese made the breakthrough after a free-kick was cleared only as far as Cohen, who struck a volley that was deflected into the corner. Captain Gold doubled the lead 15 minutes later, with his second in two games when he headed in from a Joe Meisel corner. A late penalty from Vale talisman James Millet set up a nervy finish however 'Nese dug in and defended well to ensure that they came away with the points.

Jubilant 'Nese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: "It was a decent performance today. We know we’re probably capable of more but it was enough to get the win today. Vale are a good side and they caused us a few problems, but our quality shone through."

BFR joint-manager Dan Cohen told JC Sport: "Thankfully we managed to hold on for the victory we deserved. We now look forward to a cup tie at Rowley Lane next week."

Dons manager Jamie Nagioff told JC Sport: "I'm happy enough with our attitude today and we started to get used to our shape, growing into the game as it went on. There are plenty of positives to take forward into next week."
