Meet the teams: SPEC FC

articlemain

SPEC FC are one of the few teams outside of the top-flight starting the new season where they finished the last. Having struck gold in Berlin, Ricky Lawrence hopes to maintain his midas touch with a squad featuring some new faces.

COMPETITIONS ENTERED: Divison One, Cyril Anekstein Cup and Peter Morrison Trophy.

HOPES FOR SEASON: We hope to be challenging at the right end of the table. Mid-table would be no disgrace but we'd rather not be in another relegation battle, the strength of the division will make that tough though.

SQUAD ADDITIONS: Yes, a few. Sam and Simon Roth have joined from Bilbaum. Alex Hershman has signed from Raiders, and we've also signed two youngsters in Zack Neiman and Ben Myers. We may have one more signing up our sleeves too.

WHICH ONE EXCITES YOU MOST? That's a tricky one. All of the signings offer something a little bit different be it youth, versatility, an eye for goal or a little bit of craziness!

PLAYER OUT: The biggest loss is James Lesner who recently moved to Amsterdam. Being such a crucial part of the club both on and off the pitch, he has left a big hole in the squad but one we can fill ... we hope. It's fair to say right wingers throughout the league will let out a huge sigh though as it means a more peaceful game for them if and when they play us.

ONES TO WATCH: Elliott Wallis is always one to keep an eye on. He can score a goal out of nothing. Zack Neiman has impressed in pre-season too.

MAIN RIVALS: I'm hearing good things about FC Team B.

CAPTAIN: Marc Hecht

SPONSOR: Challenge Sport and Education. http://www.challengesporteducation.co.uk/

WHAT WILL YOUR TEAM BRING TO THE LEAGUE THIS SEASON? Goals. Hopefully more for us than the opposition.
