articlemain

Scrabble Football Club return to the Maccabi League with entries in all three Maccabi competitions plus one outside the league.

Formed in 1980, they have a rich football history and this squad will be the third generation of players that have represented the club which won back to back Premier League titles in the late 1990's.

Over the last few months club chairman Adrian Lewis and Zak McLeod have both worked so hard to bring things together and put the right infrastructure in place.

There is a "great atmosphere in the group who are all showing full commitment in the friendlies as they build up to the start of the league season".

Captained by Josh Tiano, they are "cautiously optimistic for the new season" as they seek to gain promotion at the first attempt.

Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "All we ask of the players is that they give 100 per cent effort in every game and bring to the league the right spirit of sportsmanship and fair play that is expected of them."

Scrabble have two sponsors on board for the season in Citroen Wells and E3 Sports and are "delighted to have them involved in our club".

The club will play home games at the Capital City Academy in Willesden where we have an excellent 3G facility to ensure that our games go ahead if the weather deteriorates during the season.

Abrahams added: "All in all we hope to be challenging for promotion in this our first season back in the league and to have a decent run in the cup competitions."
