James Mandell (2) earned L'Equipe one of the results of the day as they notched up their first win after easing past Whetstone.

Andrew Smith and Dan Finegold completed an excellent result for L'Equipe.

From the first minute L'Equipe's new signings Mark and Andy Smith were dominating the Whetstone defence and causing loads of problems up front.

Having missed a few chances early on, L'Equipe finally broke the deadlock 25 minutes in when Andy Smith was put through on goal by Nick Stern and finished with great composure in the bottom left-hand corner.

Confidence was high after the first goal and L'Equipe continued to pile on the pressure when another run from Finegold on right wing ended in his cross floating over the keeper.

Going in at half-time, the message was not to get complacent as L'Equipe knew Whetstone had the quality to come back. Straight from the whistle L'Equipe continued to press the ball and create chances.

Ten minutes in Nick Stern again picked up the ball in central midfield and played a defence-splitting pass through to Mandell who finished neatly into the bottom right-hand corner.

With Whetstone heads going down L'Equipe weren't finished just yet and a mistake from the Whetstone midfield led to Mandell being put through again and finish to put the game beyond Whetstone.

L'Equipe joint-manager Josh Lewis told JC Sport: "All round great performance from my team today and it's been coming for a few weeks now.

"Overall it's good to finally get the win, four points from first three games and two clean sheets are positives going forward."
