articlemain

Maccabi Tel Aviv will represent Israel in the Champions League next season after clinching their third successive Ligat Ha'Al title with a 2-1 victory over nearest rivals Hapoel Kiryat Shmona.

Kiryat Shmona took an early lead through Roi Kehat, but goals either side of the break from Rade Prica and Maharan Radi wrapped it up for the yellows hold an unassailable nine-point advantage, with two games left remaining.

General Manager Jordi Cruyff, who joined Maccabi three years ago and is credited with the club's transformation into Israel's top team, has signed a new two-year deal despite offers from other European clubs.

He said: "There is a great sense of satisfaction after a particularly difficult season.

"But we can still improve our results and that is our target for next season."
