Maccabi Masters review: December 14

articlemain

A late strike from Steven Moss condemned defending champions North London Raiders to their second defeat of the season following a 2-1 defeat against Scrabble Harmen.

In a game of two penalties, Jeremy Teacher converted from the spot at Silver Jubilee Park after referee Nigel Kyte had sent off NLR's Gavin Hodes for tripping an opponent who was through on goal.

NLR equalised with 10 minutes remaining thanks to a David Lederman penalty following a foul on Tony Plaskow.

But it was Scrabble Harmen who had the final say when Moss fired home the winner with five minutes reamining.

An early penalty from Glenn Davis was enough to give Chigwell Athletic at the expense of Faithfold.

Zigzag Marshside swept aside the challenge from Hendon Harriers. Strikes from Faramarz Moghim, Leon Pernikis, Sam Nourazi, Simon Black and an own goal wrapped up a 5-0 victory.

St John’s Wood Tigers eased home 4-1 against Glenthorne United, with goals from John Perloff, Dean Schulberg, Ashley Davidson and Jonny Feinmesser. Brian Deal scored Glenthorne’s consolation.
