BUSHEY 2 MACCABI LONDON 8

Having started their title defence with victories over Garston and Tansley, Maccabi were soon into their stride, scoring three outstanding goals in a 15-minute period.

The opening goal saw Adam Harvey burst down the left and pull the ball back into the path of Saul Conway who arrowed a first time strike into the bottom corner. Moments later the feat was repeated on the other flank, Jon Rayner combined with Sam Sloma who stepped inside on to his left foot before unleashing a venomous drive into the net 20 yards.

Maccabi made it 3-0 on 30 minutes when Craig Pearl latched on to a clearance from a corner to strike a dipping volley high into the net. Daniel Stanton and Sloma registered before half-time, leaving Bushey with an impossible task.

Substitute Greg Corin added a sixth with a sweetly-struck shot early in the second half. Bushey scored consolation goals either side of a double from Paul Hakim as Maccabi secured their biggest win of the season.

MACCABI: Dan Jacobs, Jon Rayner, Adam Myeroff, Rob Glass, Adam Harvey, Sam Sloma, Alex Levack, Craig Pearl, Daniel Stanton, Saul Conway, Steve Summers. Subs: Danny Berg, Paul Hakim, Greg Corin

* Lee Cash (2) and Bradley Lazarus earned Maccabi London a 3-1 win over Alexandra Park in the Southern Amateur Vets League.
