Managed by Arthur Duke and Hollie Geey, the group features players who have previously represented MGB at the Maccabiah Games and JCC Maccabi Games in the USA. Gabriel John will coach the squad, along with fitness coach Philip Turner.

Duke said: “We are really proud of the squad that we are developing. We have some excellent young players who are going to have their first experience of playing as part of the women’s football squad. These girls are passionate, hardworking and really dedicated and their energy will be vital in Budapest

“We also have more experienced players, some of whom have a few Maccabiot under their belt. These girls will be bringing their knowledge, ability and experience as well as their passion to bring home a medal.”

Geey talked about the squad’s aims and said: “As a team we would like to come home with a medal.

“We are grafting hard on our fitness and conditioning, as well as our technical ability and playing as a strong unit. We would like the players to come away from this experience wanting to go again.”

Geey went on to say: “I am extremely proud to be representing my country and community as a player-manager and I will continue to work hard for every player so that women’s football develops more and more with each Maccabi Games.”
